School Opening Times
Our school office is open from 8:00am until 4:00pm.
In order to aid parents when dropping children off, our school gate is now open for 15 minutes from 8:35am until 8:50am (previously the school gate closed at 8:45am). Since the five minute increase we have found that our number of children missing AM registration has decreased considerably. We also hope that our parents and local residents have seen a difference in ease of parking and congestion in the surrounding environs of the school.
Post-registration, our morning session begins at 9:00am ending at lunchtime (times vary from KS1 and KS2 – see below).
There is a mid-morning break of 15 minutes for all of the children (10:30am KS1 and 10:50am KS2).
On Fridays, arrangements are slightly different due to our celebration assembly (10:20am). On Fridays, our children go to mid-morning break simultaneously – we call this family Friday where children from KS1 (excluding Foundation Stage) and KS2 can choose where they would like to play – either our top playground, bottom playground or our astro-turf area.
In the summer months when there are prolonged periods of dry weather, playtimes are transferred from the playground settings to our playing field.
To safely and successfully manage all pupils going through our Munchy Crunchy Restaurant , lunch is split into two sittings: 12pm KS1 and 12:10pm KS2. Lunchtime finishes at 1:10pm
Our afternoon session begins at 1:10pm with PM registration.
End of the School Day
The school gates are opened at 3:15pm.
Parents of Foundation Stage children are ale to enter the school via the supervised gate in the upper waiting area to collect their children from the Foundation Stage classrooms.
Year 1 and Year 2 teachers will lead their children out at 3:15pm for collection as follows:
- Year 1 from the school gate in the upper waiting area
- Year 2 from the school hall doors in the lower waiting area.
Years, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are led out by their teachers at 3:25pm as follows:
- Year 3 from the school hall doors in the lower waiting area
- Years 4, 5 and 6 from the school gates in the upper waiting area.
If a different adult is collecting your child at the end of the day, please put a note in the contact book or if this is not available write a short note to the teacher. If several adults collect your child on a regular basis throughout the year, a note in the contact book listing the adults will be sufficient.
The office staff regularly receive calls during the afternoon regarding the above and in order for the teacher to receive the message a call has to be made to the classroom which disrupts the class. If you need to call the school regarding a change of pick up arrangements, please do so before 12:00pm: a note can then be put in the register for the teacher to see during afternoon registration.
