Last academic year, our Pupil Council raised £600 for Gravesham Foodbank.
In recognition of the hard work the pupil council put in to coordinating fundraising project, Ms Searle (our then Pupil Council Coordinator) submitted details of our efforts to a competition run by the Education Projects Department at the Houses of Parliament. The Speaker’s School Council Awards aims to recognises school councils involved in inspiring and worthwhile activities.
Unfortunately, we were not selected as one of the winners but in her letter to the school the Education Projects Officer thanked us on behalf of the Speaker of the House of COmmons, the Rt. Hon. John Bercrow and the awards team for our entry. We were also sent a digital badge recognising our dedication to this worthwhile cause project and we now proudly display this on our website homepage.
